Share columns in the second table are based on call-start records; across these countries 52% to 67% of call starts never became a conversation of 30 seconds or more. “Peak hour” is the hour with the most unique callers. All countries were queried directly in their local time zone, in whole hours (an earlier draft converted Europe/Madrid buckets, which put India’s peak at a spurious 17:30). *Afghanistan’s quietest hour had almost no callers, so its peak ÷ quietest ratio is unstable. Saudi Arabia (164 learners) and Germany (185) are below our 200-learner minimum and are kept only in the CSV.

Because SpeakPal Club matches learners with native English speakers across many time zones, an evening in Tashkent is daytime in Europe and early morning in the Americas, so partner availability does not simply follow the learner’s clock.

Methodology and limitations
- Source: SpeakPal Club product analytics (Amplitude), read-only, 4 November 2026; no new tracking.
- Window: 27 October 00:00 to 3 November 23:59, 2026 (8 days, local time). Hourly data is limited to short windows, so this is a one-week sample (queried as two 4-day halves), not a 90-day average.
- Uzbekistan and India: real conversations (
conversation_done, duration ≥ 30 s, which excludes dropped or failed connection attempts, most of them under 10 seconds) counted per hour, queried directly in Asia/Tashkent and Asia/Kolkata. Shares of sessions are unaffected by double logging. - Other countries: unique users starting a call (
conversation_talk_starts) per hour, queried directly in each country’s time zone. These include connection attempts that never became conversations. - Minimum sample: countries with fewer than 200 learners in the window (Saudi Arabia, Germany) are excluded from the page.
- Limitations: a short late-October sample may not reflect holidays, Ramadan or exams; Indonesia uses WIB only; calls are counted under the learner’s country; country is IP-inferred.
- Revision: an earlier draft reported “estimated conversations per day” as country records ÷ 2; that is not valid for a single country (cross-border calls are logged once there) and has been removed. A later draft used a 60-second threshold and Madrid-converted call-start buckets; both were replaced on 4 November 2026.
